The short answer
At HNL, know the terminal and do not forget agricultural screening. The walk between Terminals 1 and 2 is manageable, but Terminal 3 and the rental facility require separate ground transport.

Don’t stand at the wrong curb
Ride-app pickup uses designated median areas on the arrivals roadway. Confirm the lobby and zone in the app before crossing traffic lanes.
The consolidated rental-car facility is served by free electric shuttles from the terminals; follow Rental Car Shuttle signs at baggage claim.
Free Wiki Wiki buses and electric trams connect terminal areas. The airport FAQ estimates a 10–15 minute walk between Terminals 1 and 2; Terminal 3 is remote.
